Fun With AI imagery : Nashville Predators Opening Night

·

Picture this: It’s a wild and wacky cartoon world as we dive into the opening night of the NHL team, the Nashville Predators! Or should I say OPENNVEL Night! In the style of Family Guy there is a fantastic rendition of the Preds kicking off the NHL’s opening night. For what it’s worth the hair on the Predators player is absolutely stunning.

Scene 1: Smashville’s Music City Madness

The scene opens in front of the Bridgestone Arena, where a giant cowboy boot-shaped puck drop platform stands. The crowd is buzzing with excitement as they gather around the arena, dressed in their most extravagant country and hockey-themed outfits.

What the heck is Nawnville?! At least the AI made the logos right.

Probably the first misfire of the night. For the image of the boot-shaped puck drop platform, it may be worth noting that the AI image generator had a bit of an issue, resulting in a misrepresentation of the intended image.

Scene 2: The Predators’ Grand Entrance

Suddenly, the Nashville Predators burst onto the scene, riding a giant mechanical catfish like a rodeo bull, complete with hockey sticks and helmets! The crowd goes wild, and the catfish bucks and spins, and the players expertly balance on top.

Ok, so if the AI is going to write this awesome description it also needs to bring it to a visual life. And I for one am completely happy with the AI images of the mechanical catfish bucking the team.

I mean, that’s just absolutely beautiful

Scene 3: Country Music Extravaganza

The Jumbotron comes to life with animated musical notes, and out pops a cartoon-sized Keith Urban playing a guitar, shredding an electrifying version of the national anthem. The whole arena turns into a boot-scootin’ dance floor as fans two-step their way into the game.

…for better or worse, here we go…

Scene 4: Intermission Shenanigans

During intermission, the mascot, Gnash, turns into a human-sized catfish and challenges fans to a hilarious game of “Catfish Curling” on the ice. They slip and slide, trying to launch catfish at giant goalposts while the audience laughs and cheers.

Truly an epic WTF but I ain’t even mad…

Scene 5: The Game

As the game begins, the Predators’ players skate like lightning, leaving streaks of fire behind them. The opposing team is depicted as a group of ice-skating penguins wearing tuxedos, desperately trying to defend their net.

The fever dream continues. And I’m pretty sure this a template from the New Yorker…

Scene 6: OT Thrills

The game goes into overtime, and a zany mascot showdown takes place on the ice. Gnash faces off against the rival penguins’ mascot, a comically bumbling bird named “Slippy.” The two mascots engage in a hilarious dance-off, with cartwheels, moonwalks, and the chicken dance, all while fans roar with laughter.

Scene 7: Victory Celebration

Finally, the Predators score the game-winning goal, and fireworks explode in the sky. The entire arena transforms into a honky-tonk dance party, with fans line dancing, cowboy hats twirling, and catfish flying through the air as confetti and streamers rain down.

And so, in this cartoon world, the Nashville Predators celebrate their opening night with a grand spectacle of music, mayhem, and merriment that’s unlike any other in the NHL. It’s a night of fun, frolics, and unforgettable hockey, Nashville style!

The cowboy hats really sell it for me and I somehow feel that they all have six shooters on their hips. Using ChatGPT prompt for “describe in a cartoon way the opening night of the nhl team nashville predators,” the images from Dall-E 3 brought me much joy and some new nightmares.
